Metabolic reprogramming is one of the hallmarks of cancer. Re-wired lipid metabolism supports the proliferation and survival of cancer cells through multiple pathways, such as increased energy and membrane source, anti-apoptosis through altered membrane microdomains (lipid rafts) and mitochondrial lipids. Our group has been applying mass spectrometry-based lipidomics and proteomics approaches to understand the lipid metabolism changes underlying oesophageal adenocarcinoma and multiple myeloma. This presentation will our learnings and results from these interdisciplinary studies.
